SERVING
IOWA FAIRS
SINCE 1907

We are experiencing unprecedented times right now. The COVID-19 pandemic is having a large impact/influence on all of us in many ways.

As Fair folks, we all are concerned about the affect this virus will have on our 2020 fair season. So much uncertainty right now on how our Fairs will be affected. We certainly hope, for everyone's sake, this gets under control soon.

The AIF is being contacted by fair folks around the state. Concerns range from not only their county fair, but also how the pandemic is affecting events scheduled on fairgrounds across Iowa. Cancelled events negatively affect the bottom line for all of our member Fairs.

When thinking about Fairs, the list of affected by this pandemic is expansive... our youth, community, vendors and carnivals are all affected. The loss of a county fair in any community would be a significant loss for all involved.

The Association of Iowa Fairs does not have the authority to cancel fairs, nor does it want to. That decision is entirely up to the local Fair Board. The AIF will work closely with its members as they plan for their fairs this June through September, and will provide updated information to its members so they can determine what their 2020 fair will look like for their exhibitors, vendors, workers, carnivals, service clubs, entertainers and their patrons.

Fairs this year may look a little different, but please know they are all working diligently to host their fair in the safest manner possible for all involved.

There will be more information coming from many sources over the coming months. Use this page as a directory for the information and updates that will be available for our members throughout the coming months. This page will change over time, so check back often.

Stay safe and be #FairStrong. Practice social distancing so we can celebrate together this summer at fairs across the state. Thank you for your interest and support of our entire fair industry.
